MARK Allen reached the quarter-finals of the Cazoo UK Championship on Wednesday evening with a 6-3 victory over Kyren Wilson.
The Antrim man, who will now face Sam Craigie, 6-4 winner over Ryan Day, for a place in the semis, lost the first two frames to Wilson, as he did to Jordan Brown in his opening win, but he turned the screw to level by the interval and after the next two frames were shared Allen took three in a row to wrap up victory, with his notable breaks of 60, 70, 96, 84, 80 and 70.
Other winners on Wednesday were Ronnie O’Sullivan, 6-0 against Xhou Yuelong, and Tom Ford, who beat Luca Brecel 6-3.
