MARK Allen will face Ding Junhui in the third round of the BetVictor English Open on Wednesday evening after an impressive 4-1 win over Dylan Emery on Tuesday.
Antrim's world number five was in blistering form against the Englishman, starting the game with two total clearances – 135 and 141 – before adding the third frame with a break of 55.
Emery compiled a fine break of 98 to reduce the deficit, but an early break of 55 in frame five was enough to seal the victory for Allen.
Ding was the final victim when Allen won his first UK Championship title in York last night, his second ranking event win in what has been a scintillating season for him so far.
