KATIE Taylor won't meet Amanda Serrano in a rematch at Dublin's 3Arena on May 20.

Taylor-Serrano II, the second instalment of the blood-and-thunder battle at New York's Madison Square Garden last April, was originally planned for Croke Park last year.

However, a deal could not be struck and financial overheads - including the cost of securing the event - scuppered plans for Taylor's long-awaited homecoming at GAA Headquarters.

The talk then moved to the 3Arena and Serrano was the preferred opponent for Taylor but it is understood that Puerto Rico's undisputed featherweight champion is not currently prepared to take the fight.

England's undisputed super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron could now step into the breach. Cameron, 17-0 with eight stoppage wins, is a fearsome puncher and, at 31, is five years' Taylor's junior.
