Fermanagh pair finish sixth in Men’s Pairs final

Fintan McCarthy and Paul O’Donovan have won gold Lightweight Double Sculls in Paris.

The reigning Olympic champions held off the Italian and Greek crews in Friday morning’s final to surge ahead in the second half of the race and add to the gold they won in Tokyo.

Earlier on Friday morning, Ross Corrigan and Nathan Timoney missed out on a medal in the Men’s Pairs final on Friday morning.

The Fermanagh duo finished sixth in a fast final which saw Great Britain pair of Tom George and Ollie Wynne-Griffith establish an early lead.

The race was won by Croatia who caught the Great Britain pair on the line with Switzerland taking bronze.
