BELFAST-BORN Mark Sykes has been recalled to the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 Qualifiers with Greece and Gibraltar while defender Liam Scales earns a call-up and his Celtic team-mate Mikey Johnston is back after injury.
Callum Robinson of Cardiff City is also back in the fold after missing the last few international windows due to injury.
Sheffield United defender John Egan misses out through injury as well as Cardiff City winger Callum O'Dowda. Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is alos injured with Max O'Leary coming into the squad to join his Bristol City teammate Sykes.
The Republic are already out of the running in their Euro 2024 qualification group and their chances of sneaking through the Nations League back door appear remote.
Ireland are set to face Greece at the Aviva Stadium on Friday, October 13 followed by a trip to Faro, Portugal to face Gibraltar on Monday, October 16, with both matches set to kick-off at 7.45pm.
