Former Antrim football manager Frank Dawson  presented the Antrim chairman, secretary, and treasurer with a 14-page document outlining his plans for 2014 at a meeting last month, The Irish News has learned.

Dawson declined to comment, but it is understood the document was given to the leading Saffron officials on September 19, a month after the Belfast man was controversially re-appointed for a second season in charge.

A follow-up meeting was arranged for a week later but this was cancelled by the board the day before it was due to take place and it was not re-scheduled before Dawson announced his resignation from the post on Tuesday, october 1. on monday of this week Dawson was confirmed as manager by Down club Bryansford.

? Drumgath won their second Down Around-a-Pound IFC title with a deserved 0-15 to 1-7 win over Newry Bosco at Pairc esler on Sunday.

Former Down star Packie Downey (pictured) opened the scoring for the winners and Colm maginn added another before Paul McKeown and Neil Tumilty free-kicks levelled it.

But the city side didn't score again until first half injury-time as Drumgath - with Downey and Colm mcComish outstanding - opened up what turned out to be a match-winning half-time lead.

Bosco came out for the second half with all guns blazing and substitute gavin moan gave them hope with a first-touch goal after 18 seconds.

But Drumgath pulled away again, with McComish and Downey adding points, although moan kept Bosco in touch with another fine score They laid siege to the Drumgath goal and Aidan rooney and Chris Duggan both had chances to find the net. rooney's point left four in it going into the final quarter but Cathal Tumilty and maginn stretched Drumgath's lead to six.

Duggan and Neil Tumilty reduced the gap, but it just wasn't enough and in injury-time Drumgath skipper mark Connolly sent a right-wing free-kick over the Bosco bar to seal the title for his side.

? Dromara survived a second half fightback from Teconnaught to force a replay in the Around-a-Pound Down Junior Championship final, with the game finishing 0-8 apiece.

Dromara had led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break and looked the likely winners, but Teconnaught - inspired by five points from Conan russell - came roaring back and it took a late score from Conor Burns to spare Dromara's blushes and earn them another go this weekend.

The replay will take place at St John's, Drumnaquoile on Saturday (4.30pm throw-in).
