CARGIN manager John Brennan claimed that midfielder Michael McCann had been bitten by a Crossmaglen player during a second-half melee in today's match at the Athletic Grounds.
“We had a player who was bitten out there,” he said.
“Michael McCann was bitten on the neck and that’s why the fisty-cuffs started out there and they had another player who came in and struck.”
McCann later confirmed what Brennan had said, but wouldn’t name his alleged assailant. However, Crossmaglen joint managers Oisin McConville and John McEntee both denied that any biting had taken place.

“It sounds ridiculous to me,” said McEntee.
“I would have thought that John would have been magnanimous in defeat and just take it on the chin, there were a lot of incidents we could all talk about. It was a very clean game given the competitiveness of it.”
