Dundrum GAC
This Saturday Dundrum GAC will host the Conal McKee Memorial 7’s Tournament at Páirc Seán Ó Caoilte. All proceeds from the event will be going to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) who repatriated Conal from the USA after his tragic death there in August 2018 aged 26.
Conal had been with the club since U-10 level.
He made his senior team debut in 2008 and soon firmly established himself as one of the most promising players of that era.
In 2010 he won the Senior Player of the Year award and such was the esteem that his peers held him in he was also awarded the Seamus Rice Memorial Cup (Players’ Player of the Year Award).
The highlight of his senior career was to come in 2012 when he helped Dundrum to a unique treble: Down JFC, Down ACFL Division 4 and Down Junior Feís 7’s titles. Conal was outstanding at full back that year.
The club will also be hosting underage/senior 7’s blitzes along with an ActiSport fun day. The Grand Prize Draw will take place at the close of the event. Our specially commissioned ‘Memorial Jerseys’ will be on show too.
All those within our community are invited to attend. Proceedings begin at 1pm.
For further details regarding the event, sponsorship opportunities and the Grand Prize Draw please visit our Facebook page: @ConalMcKeeMemorial7s.

We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of Nora Newell of Pats Road. Nora and her family have always had very close links with the club for generations. She is sister of long serving committee member and former President Jim Collins. May she rest in peace.

The Ballymartin Senior men competed in the recent Ambrose Rodgers 7s tournament and probably exceeded expectations by reaching the semi-final. We helped to host the tournament, having two groups at Pats Road. In the final, Longstone fell to worthy winner Clonduff.
