BALLYMARTIN: GoldMark is a simple programme which requires volunteers aged 14-24 to keep a volunteer record, which is signed off by club and Ulster GAA co-ordinators.

Young people are awarded for 50 hours, 100 hours and 200 hours of volunteering. The 200 hours award of excellence signed by the minister for education.

GoldMark awards can be used in job applications and/or niversity/college applications. We have had several successful volunteers in Ballymartin in previous years - Rory Quinn, Patrick Quinn, Sarah Cunningham and Niamh McDowell to name a few.

For more information on the GoldMark programme in the club, contact Neil Doyle on 07814 719505, or email Gailnialldoyle@gmail.com

Meanwhile, the club is currently in the process of making a commemorative DVD to celebrate its centenary in 2022. We are calling on all past and present club members to contact us and share any old or recent photos and particularly video footage they might have.

It can be from a match, a club event or fundraiser, a sports day - anything at all. Much the same way the ‘Down Memory Lane’ night was such a success, this can only work if everyone contributes. Also, if there are any members or former players who would be interested in sharing a few old stories etc for the DVD, please contact any member of the committee.

KEVIN BARRY’S, DERRYLAUGHAN: The Washingbay Green Run 2020 fundraiser has moved to October 31, with online registrations still valid for the revised date. For further information on the 5K walk/run, 10K run and half-marathon, or the revised arrangements, visit www.wbaygreenrun.com or contact Brendan Quinn on 07784 516133.
