Armagh club Pearse Og remember legend Donal Powell

PEARSE Og GAC, Armagh will mark the 30th anniversary of the loss of their  cherished clubman Donal Powell with a weekend of activities in aid of Southern Area Hospices Services.

Donal, a former player and coach, was a tireless and committed member of the Cathedral City club and the weekend begins with a candlelit vigil at his graveside this evening (Friday) at 6.30pm. It will be followed by a quiz in the Pearse Og Social Club starting at 8pm. Quiz master is Jimmy McKee and the cost is £5 per person.

On Saturday, U10 football begins at 9am featuring the host club and visiting teams and that evening the social club will host an ’80s/’90s disco.

On Sunday some of Donal’s former teammates will take to the field for an Over 40s exhibition game which will be followed by music in the social club.   

All funds from the weekend will be donated to the Southern Area Hospice at the request of the Powell family who are grateful to the raffle prize sponsors: The Hide Out Culloville, Gerard Davidson, Eurospar Armagh, Martin Leonards Butchers, Studio D, Pretty Polished Nails, Mark McSherry, Keegan’s Bar, Collette Darragh Lashes, Basil Sheils, Karla Kane, Armagh Sports & Trophies, Oliver Fruit Shop.
