Ballyboden battle to seventh Dublin hurling title

Ballyboden St Enda's landed their seventh Dublin Senior Hurling Championship title yesterday, coming from behind at the interval to outscore Kilmacud Crokes in the second half of this replayed final at Parnell Park yesterday.

Ballyboden, coached to the decider by west Belfast native Mickey McCullough, were ahead by just a point as the game drew to a close.

But then Paul Ryan popped one over before Dublin footballer Colm Basquel came on from the subs' bench, bagging another point to give Ballyboden a 2-15 to 1-15 victory - and win number seven since 2007.

It was heartbreak for Kilmacud for the third year on the trot.

Winners in 2014, they lost out to Cuala in the last two finals before Ballyboden compounded their disappointment yesterday.

Ballyboden now go forward to face Clonkill (Westmeath) in the AIB Leinster Club Championship.
