MARK Allen and Aaron Hill both reached the last 32 of the Machineseeker German Masters in Berlin on Tuesday.

Allen, whose top breaks were 74 and 71, beat David Lilley 5-0, and the Antrim man will now take on Chinese prospect Wu Yize on Wednesday for a place in the last 16.

The pair met as recently as late November when Allen enjoyed a 6-4 victory in the last 16 of the UK Championship.

Hill (22) produced a career-best performance in beating three-times world champion Mark Williams 5-2. Breaks of 52 and 53 had him 2-0 ahead but Williams levelled with runs of 65 and 66.

The world number 59, though, regained his composure and took three frames on the spin, wrapping up the match with a break of 115. He now faces Jimmy Robertson or Noppon Saengkham on Wednesday evening.
