Mea Domina can make it third time lucky for Paddy Twomey in the Cairn Rouge Stakes at Killarney.

The Pivotal filly has been placed twice at stakes level since joining the Tipperary trainer and can grab a nice listed prize.

She has already scored at this level in her native France when winning at Saint-Cloud last October.

Twomey generally does well with this kind of horse, picked up from other yards, and she ran a cracker first time when third to Buckaroo in the Heritage Stakes at Leopardstown.

With that run under her belt she went to post favourite for the Group Three Gladness Stakes at the Curragh in April but had to play second fiddle to Goldana.

This doesn’t look as strong with only one other triple figure runner in the mile event.

Connections of Mea Domina will have been heartened by the recent rain as her best form has been with plenty of cut in the ground and this looks a nice opportunity.

The other runner with a rating of 100 is the Joseph O’Brien-trained Indian Wish and she could be a danger.

She is also a listed winner having landed the McCalmont Stakes at Gowran Park on her second outing for the yard.

The grey filly didn’t run too badly when mid-division in a very competitive handicap at Royal Ascot last month and should be a force in this company.

Eternal Silence may prove best of the younger fillies. She was Group One-placed as a juvenile and was thrown in at the deep end in the Irish 1,000 Guineas on her return.

After failing to collect back in maiden company at Leopardstown subsequently she put that right in good style at Naas last time and looks worth a shot at this grade.

Twomey should also collect in the median sires series race on the card where Leopardstown winner Deepone looks the obvious pick against four maidens.

In the mile maiden, the regally-bred Simpson’s Paradox should be capable of opening his account.

The Mastercraftsman gelding, a full-brother to Alpha Centauri, hasn’t lived up to his pedigree but has shown enough to give him the winning of a race of this standard.

He was a bit disappointing on his return at Gowran in April but had some strong juvenile form on soft ground and presumably needs a cut as he was taken out on fast ground at Ballinrobe late last month.
