Having finally broken their losing streak against Connacht, Ulster will hope that they can keep the results coming when they visit the English midlands.

The Ulstermen’s next European fixture comes against the Leicester Tigers, who are currently fourth in the Gallagher Premiership and are coming into the game off the back of a win against struggling Exeter Chiefs and a draw against second-placed Bristol Bears.

Ulster themselves are still reeling having beaten inter-pro rivals Connacht in their last game before the new year, having ran Munster close at home a few days before Christmas.

These next two games are the last pool fixtures before the knockout rounds are decided, with Ulster looking to get off the foot of Pool A and qualify for the European Challenge Cup.

As it stands, the province will be eliminated from European competition altogether if they cannot manage to move above Exeter Chiefs, with the English side’s visit to Kingspan looking to be a do-or-die tie.

Richie Murphy will be without Tom O’Toole after it was confirmed that the Irish international would serve a six-game ban for dangerous play against Munster on December 20.

Tigers will keep an eye on their forward Hanro Liebenberg ahead of the match, with the South African back-row having suffered an ankle injury against Exeter Chiefs in their Gallagher Premiership meeting.
