ARMAGH City boss Shea Campbell believes “hunger and desire” can power a challenge for a promotion play-off spot in the Playr-Fit Championship.

A dramatic 98th-minute goal by Ethan Jordan secured a 3-3 draw against the Welders at Holm Park, denying the visitors a leap to second spot in the table.

A Tiarnan O’Connor hat-trick put Paul Kee’s Welders in control after Igor Rutkowski had given Campbell’s side a first minute lead.

But a Conor Mullen goal on the hour and that late, late Jordan effort rescued a point for City, who are in sixth spot.

Well-travelled former top-flight striker Campbell said: “We don’t have a big budget so this is a good day for the club. We are all about hunger and desire so it was good to see.

“We are doing well but we are always looking to get better and we would like to be challenging further up.

“It was probably a great game to watch but it was a bit too frantic for the staff. We deserved at least a point.

“The Welders are a good side, well coached, and we knew it was going to be difficult. The Welders made it a great game.”

In Saturday’s only other match, Stephen Small’s Ballyclare Comrades beat struggling Newry City 3-1 at Dixon Park.

The matches at Dundela, Ballinamallard and Institute’s showdown with Ards at the Brandywell were postponed.

The top two clashed on Friday night, leaders Bangor beating Limavady United 1-0 at Clandeboye Park, the Seasiders sitting pretty nine points clear of the Roesiders at the summit.
