Facts and stats

45 seems to be the magic number for both sides as Cliftonville hope to end their 45-year Irish Cup drought tomorrow, with their last victory coming in 1979, when they beat Portadown 3-2, although the Reds have lost four finals since then (1997, 2009, 2013 and 2018).

Linfield are on the other end of the spectrum, with the east Belfast outfit looking to get their 45th cup victory.

The Blues secured their place in the final after running out 3-1 winners against Glentoran in their semi-final while Cliftonville booked their place in the showpiece final with a 2-0 win against Premiership champions, Larne.

The last time Linfield and Cliftonville met in an Irish Cup final, in 1953, it ended 5-0 to the Blues.
