BEN Arthurs feels Matthew Ferguson could be the final piece of the jigsaw as Bangor lead the charge for promotion from the Playr-Fit Championship to the top flight.

The table toppers make the long trek to Fermanagh to face Ballinamallard at Ferney Park on Saturday full of confidence after Arthurs’ double and a goal from Ferguson helped Bangor to a 3-1 win over Institute at Clandeboye Park last weekend.

That victory made it six wins in a row for the Seasiders in all competitions and Arthurs said: “We know the ability we have in the changing room this year and we’re confident going into every game.”

Arthurs’ brace against Stute took his tally for the season to six, while Ferguson - who arrived from the Welders in the summer - moved up to 12 and tops the scoring charts in the division.

Arthurs said: “He’s been brilliant since he’s come in – he has 12 goals now and he’s been firing them in.

“We have been playing very well together, we’ve 18 goals between us in 10 games, and I think Bangor fans will be glad to see how well we’ve gelled together.

“All the boys are just digging in, it worked for us on Saturday and it’s great to have that.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, the Welders will attempt to bounce back from last week’s 5-0 humbling at home to Limavady which cost them top spot when they take on Newington at Larne’s Inver Park.

The Roesiders, who signalled their promotion hopes with that five-star display, host Stephen Small’s Ballyclare Comrades.

Institue tackles Newry City at the Brandywell, Armagh City go to Dundela, and Ards face Annagh at Clandeboye Park.

All matches kick off at 3pm.
