A full fixture list awaits fans this evening in the Sports Direct Premiership, with sides hoping to either continue their winning ways or grasp a long-awaited victory from the jaws of defeat.

Larne manager Tiernan Lynch is taking his troops down the M1 to play a resurgent Glenavon at Mourneview Park and knows that his side will have a battle on their hands against Stephen McDonnell’s men.

“There are no easy games in this league, we see that with the upsets every week,” Lynch said.

“Going to play Glenavon, you always know that you will be up against a very good footballing side.

“I think that their win at Seaview shows just the calibre that they have, and we must be ready to face that challenge.”

After losing their opening three games, the Lurgan Blues have climbed to ninth spot after two wins and a draw in their last four games and know that if they can get a result tonight against the reigning champions, they can begin thinking about the top six rather than relegation.

After some shaky performances since their European success, Larne got back to winning ways against Linfield on Saturday, and it would be no surprise if they went on a similarly successful run on the domestic front now.

Meanwhile, basement side Carrick Rangers host an in-form Ballymena United who have now won three games on the bounce largely thanks to the league’s top scorer Ben Kennedy who has scored six times already and looks thirsty for more.

Elsewhere, it’s third against fourth, when Crusaders make the journey to Stangmore Park to play surprise package Dungannon Swifts.

Both sides suffered defeats at the weekend and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

In east Belfast, Glentoran host Loughgall with both sides struggling and in need of a victory, nothing but three points will do for either side.

Finally, eighth-placed Portadown welcome sixth-placed Coleraine to Shamrock Park, with the Ports hoping to continue impressing at their home fortress.
