AN archaeological search for a famine-era grave that may contain the remains of hundreds of people has got underway in Co Tyrone.

Experts believe they have discovered the original 'Long Tower' which gave its name to the well-known area of Derry’s Bogside.

Archaeologists have uncovered conclusive evidence that a wooden hut traditionally associated with St Columba at his ancient monastery on the island of Iona dates to his lifetime in the late sixth century.
