Fermanagh GAA

Fermanagh GAA is a football-dominated county but is the only county in Ulster that is yet to win a provincial title, however they have reached six finals, last doing so in 2018. The Ernemen have never won a major title on a national level either, with their best result coming in 2004, when they took Mayo to a replay in the All-Ireland semi-final before losing by two points. In the Allianz Football League, Fermanagh currently play in Division Three after finishing second from bottom in Division Two last season with five points and suffering relegation. In the championship, the Ernemen were put out in the Ulster quarter-final by Armagh and finished top of their group in the Tailteann Cup, before being put out by Ulster rivals Antrim in the quarter-finals. Hurling was in trouble in the Erne county with dwindling club numbers and fewer and fewer youth teams playing each year, however, thanks to the GAA’s revamping of hurling resources for struggling counties, Fermanagh has seen improvements on and off the field. Fermanagh won the Lory Meaghar Cup in 2024 after beating Longford in the final at Croke Park. They also won the All-Ireland and Ulster Junior Hurling Championships in 1994.
